Belly dancer Mabel
has been teaching for over seventeen years and is known for creating a
supportive and fun class environment in which to enjoy clear breakdown,
good work outs, and help in developing as a performer. Beyond technique,
it is also important to Mabel that a sense of community, sisterhood and
empowerment be a part of your Belly Dance experience. She is a firm believer that Belly Dance is a healing and invigorating way to keep your body, mind and soul healthy. She feels that every woman is a natural Belly Dancer and that it’s her job to bring that Belly Dancer out! |

Courses Description & Dates Click here >> Belly Dance or click here>> Exercises Classes ------------------------------------------- Price: 6 weeks -> $60 (Drop In - $12) Class structure is based on a Western format of clear movement breakdowns, drilling the basics, hands on corrections and integrating movements through combinations, choreography and improvisational exercises. Beginner - Mon (7:00-8:00), Wed (5:00-6:00), Sun (5:00-6:00)
Students will learn new movements each class, building
coordination, grace, strength, and flexibility. Come
to discover the joy of this organic dance form and celebrate
movement through an ancient, life-embracing art!
Learn and practice basic technique including proper stance and posture, arm carriage and patterns, fundamental shimmies, isolations, introductory undulations and travelling steps. Begin exploring Middle Eastern music rhythms and structure. A sensual choreography will be taught to incorporate new movements. No prior experience necessary. Intermediate - Tue (5:00-6:00), Thu (5:00-6:00) Expand your movement base to include foundational undulations and accents, turns and layering. Learn to travel with isolations and layering. Dance more complex combinations and floor patterns. Drills and a final choreography will be taught. Advanced I - Tue (6:00-7:00)
Refine and master technique through advanced combinations and
learning more intricate footwork. Emphasis is placed on
spins, entrance steps, speed and layering. This level includes two
choreographies using slow and fast music.
Advanced II - Fri (7:00-8:00)
Concentrate on components for raqs sharqi performance sets, including
more advanced turns, entrance veil work, finger cimbals and drum solos.
Emphasis is on emotional expression, improvisation and musical
interpretation. Two amazing choreographies are taught using the props.
Belly for Children - Sun (10:00-11:00)
In this course we provide a fun form of fitness, physical
self-expression and a basis for dance appreciation. The
program is designed for children with little or no dance
background
** Belly dancing students will need a Hip Scarf, Finger Cimbals and a Veil for some classes. All of these items are available for use and/or purchase at our studio** -------------------------------------------

Weight Loss Cario Salsa Mon(11:00-12:00 & 5:00-6:00), Tue(12:15-12:45), Fri(11:00-12:00), Sun(2:00-3:00) Do you like to exercise and dance at the same time? This program combines the moves of Latin dancing with a great aerobic workout. This is one of the best forms of exercise. Some of its benefits are weight loss, muscle gain and endurance, boosting your stamina and range of motion, learn the latest Salsa, Merengue, Cha Cha, Cumbia, Bachata and Flamenco steps. Abs, Thighs and Buns Workout Wed (11:00-12:00), Thu (12:15-12:45), Sat (11:00-12:00)
This program is designed to shape and tone your entire lower
body. The classic routines taught here are
precision-targeted to those familiar
"trouble spots":
your abs, thighs and buttocks.
Pure and Sensual Stretch Mon(12:15-12:45), Tue(11:00-12:00), Wed(6:00-7:00), Fri(12:15-12:45), Sat (12:00-1:00)
This course is designed for individuals who prefer to
perform low-impact aerobic workouts. Circulation and
flexibility are the goals of this class. It will be perfect
for people of all fitness aptitudes who want to learn the
benefits of the relaxing, restorative powers of these
stretching exercises.
Belly Yoga Fusion Wed(12:15-12:45), Thu(11:00-12:00 & 6:00-7:00), Sat(10:00-11:00)
In this course we will combine two ancient art forms into a
highly, effective, challenging workout. This fusion of
classic yoga and belly dance moves will give you a long and
lean body.
** For Dance-Exercise classes no prior experience is necessary**
